Job summary

Glencroft Center for Modern Aging is seeking a Cook to support food preparation and cooking for residents. The role requires genuine interest in geriatric, chronically ill and/or disabled persons and a professional appearance.

The Cook will follow approved methods and ensure sanitation standards are met. Key responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation, inspecting deliveries, recording temperatures, and maintaining HACCP compliance throughout service.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and cooking preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance is considered essential for operation.
• Provides assistance in food preparation, cooking and meal service using approved tools and methods.
• Cuts and prepares meats and vegetables.
• Inspects deliveries for correct items, quantities, and temperature control.
• Tastes and smells prepared food to determine quality.
• Maintains HACCP records and monitors temperatures during preparation and service.
• Stores leftovers in compliance with sanitation regulations.
• Cleans equipment and work areas as assigned.
• Keeps supervisor informed about supplies and sanitation issues.
• Assists with duties for special activities and functions.
• Ensures production area is secured at end of shift and all equipment/lights are off.
• Follows Glencroft Safety Policies and Procedures.
