Job summary

Banner Health in Tucson, AZ seeks an Associate Director RN for Inpatient Geriatric Behavioral Health to lead up to 50 staff. You will oversee daily unit operations, participate in interviews, quality initiatives, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The role requires BSN/MSN, active RN license in Arizona, BLS, and experience in clinical management within a geriatric behavioral health setting. On-site leadership with on-call responsibilities and a focus on staff development.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required for all new hires.
• BSN required for internal transfers/promotions within 6 months of transfer/promotion.
• Requires a current RN license in state of practice.
• Requires BLS certification.
• Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management as normally demonstrated through two years of clinical management experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills of specialty area.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for certain Banner Behavioral Health settings.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, recruitment and family issues.
• Manages the operations of the unit to provide safe, cost effective and quality patient care.
• Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated patient populations.
• Leads change by developing, implementing and evaluating quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Facilitates communication of system, regional, facility and department initiatives.
• Manages and develops the operational and capital budgets and use of associated resources.
• Supports staff development and leadership growth.
