Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife seeks Diet Technicians to provide nutritional services to residents, guests, and staff in a resident-oriented setting. You will work with a geriatric population, emphasizing autonomy and dignity, and collaborate with a self-directed team to ensure timely, accurate dietary decisions.

This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage stress in a compassionate elder-care environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in dietetic technology from an ADA accredited program.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Dietetic Technician.
• Experience: Supervisory, computer, nutrition and food service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Orient dietary services around the autonomy and dignity of our elders.
• Communicate a sense of caring, concern, and dignity for elders.
• Understand how to place dietary decision-making in the hands of the elders whenever possible and appropriate.
• Make prompt and accurate judgments with regard to elder care and emergencies.
• Work and communicate effectively as part of the self-directed work team.
• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with ill, disabled, elderly and/or emotional upset.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Must be detailed oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities.
• Must be able to use tools and equipment required
