Job summary

San Ysidro Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under an Occupational Therapist within our PACE program. The COTA will implement individualized and group therapy to help participants remain independent and safely live in the community.

The role includes executing the plan of care, guiding use of adaptive devices, recording treatments, and participating in staff training while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of CA.
• 2 years field experience with the geriatric population beyond completion of degree requirements.
• BLS/CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, implements individualized and group occupational therapy treatments for PACE participants.
• Implements the plan of care and modifies treatments to improve independence.
• Keeps records and signs treatments in the patient health record.
• Guides patients and caregivers in adaptive devices and self-care activities to improve function.
