Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site at community if not already certified.
• Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Training per state requirements.
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents by bed bath, shower or whirlpool.
• Follow medication administration protocols for each resident.
• Assist residents with grooming (teeth, hair, nails, makeup, shaving) and comfort.
• Make beds and maintain rooms, linens, and clutter.
• Answer emergency calls promptly and assist with mobility and transfers.
• Take vital signs and report changes to nurse/Executive Director.
• Monitor clothing, skin condition and hygiene; maintain dignity and privacy.
• Provide activity programming and care aligned with Resident Bill of Rights.
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge; organize belongings.
• Complete daily assignment sheets following authorized abbreviations.
• Adhere to universal precautions and infection control procedures.
• Report accidents or potential abuse immediately.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; perform daily housekeeping as needed.
