Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a caring Universal Caregiver to provide personal and compassionate assistance to residents in our community in Iowa City. Duties include bathing, grooming, dressing, dining support and mobility assistance, while ensuring safety and dignity at all times.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, TB clearance, and Prior healthcare or geriatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Healthcare, geriatrics or elder care experience preferred.
• Must score 85 on Skills Test.
• Desire to work with geriatric population essential.
• Caregiver Certification at Directed Care Level (AZ only).
• Training per state requirements.
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must have a TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents by bed bath, shower or whirlpool as needed.
• Assist in daily grooming including teeth, hair, nails and makeup.
• Help residents dress appropriately and maintain dignity.
• Make beds, change linens and keep rooms tidy.
• Assist with dining, food setup and feeding for residents needing help.
• Follow medication administration protocols and report concerns.
• Respond to emergency calls promptly and support safety.
• Assist with mobility, transfers and ROM as directed.
• Maintain infection control and universal precautions.
• Keep equipment, rooms and common areas clean and orderly.
