Job summary

Cascadia Senior Living in Oregon seeks a compassionate Caregiver to support residents with daily activities and monitor wellbeing. You will follow individualized care plans, assist with grooming, mobility, feeding, and daily living tasks, and report changes to the nursing team promptly.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• A minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care preferred
• Current First Aid and CPR card
• Maintain current Food Handlers card
• Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Responsibilities

• Follow individualized care plans and provide updates to the Director of Nursing or care planning staff.
• Assist with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, continence care, toileting, transfers, ambulation, ROM, communication, or other needs as per care requirements.
• Maintain residents' skin integrity by turning, repositioning, and applying moisturizers; monitor for pressure ulcers and skin tears.
• Protect residents' personal belongings and report missing items according to policy.
• Perform tasks such as vital signs, weights, applying creams, collecting specimens, and assisting with lifting/moving with proper body mechanics.
• Maintain records documenting care per department policies; adhere to standard precautions and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Follow safety plans, report unsafe conditions, and assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
• Attend required meetings and trainings; stay current on tasks and duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
