Job summary

UNC Health Care System seeks a Nursing Assistant II on a per diem basis for the General Medicine Unit in Chapel Hill. Provides routine direct and indirect patient care under RN or physician supervision, with emphasis on geriatric care.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, feeding, ambulation, vital signs, specimen collection, and basic wound care, plus support for physicians and staff. Must have CNA II and BLS, high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per plan of care under RN/physician supervision.
• Record vital signs and measurements and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and equipment prep as needed.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials.
• Provide clerical support and participate in PI audits and data entry.
