Job summary

The Wyndmoor Group in Merrillville, IN is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team and provide quality care to geriatric patients. The ideal candidate is compassionate, experienced, and able to administer medications, monitor vital signs, and offer emotional support.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with a caring team, educate patients and families about health care maintenance, and report changes to the supervising nurse. Elder care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the state.
• No finding in the registry concerning abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property.
• Skilled at tackling numerous tasks and makes quick decisions.
• Can foster good resident and family relationships.
• Ability to effectively collaborate within a team environment.
• A passion for working with elderly residents.
• Experience in a long-term or assisted living facility a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Monitor vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Educate patients and families about health care maintenance.
• Observe and report changes in patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
• Assist with geriatric care needs.
