Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech – Geriatric at Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am) role supports direct patient care in a behavioral health setting under licensed supervision.

You will monitor patient behavior, assist in treatment plans, and help provide a safe, therapeutic environment while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or related setting.
• Experience with psychiatric disorders, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, assisting with daily activities, interactions, and monitoring patient behavior.
• Observes and documents patient behaviors and responses to interventions.
• Assists in implementing individualized treatment plans under supervision.
• Engages patients in structured activities and therapeutic programming.
• De-escalates crises and enforces safety procedures.
• Ensures a safe environment through safety checks and adherence to policies.
• Assists with vital signs and collection of specimens as required.
• Collaborates with nurses and therapists to support patient progress.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Educates patients on coping skills and daily living activities.
