Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning and directing quality activities for patients in a post-acute care setting. The role focuses on meeting the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of each patient while complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and may have experience in geriatrics.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Proficiency in English reading/writing/speaking.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (entertainment, exercise, relaxation, education).
• Chart patient progress and behavior descriptively.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Conduct in-room visits for patients unable to participate in groups.
• Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
