Job summary

Sunnyside Care Center is seeking an activities aide in East Syracuse, NY to engage residents in daily activities and document participation. You will assist the activities director with planning and evaluating activities to deliver quality care and to maintain a safe, respectful environment on the units.

Responsibilities include organizing materials, assisting with program setup, and ensuring attendance records.

Qualifications

A positive attitude and energy are a must!
CNA license is encouraged but not required
Experience with activities in a healthcare setting a plus
Previous experience with Geriatric population preferred
Strong computer skills necessary
Ability to work effectively as a team member
Must have current/valid NYS Driver's License
Evening, Weekend and Holiday availability a must

Responsibilities

Implement and complete activities programs for Residents; focus on individual preferences
Work directly with Residents on units; without direct supervision
Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested
Assist activities director & set up program areas as needed
Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities
Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units
Be familiar with established emergency procedures
Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Activities
