Job summary

Sunnyside Care Center in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an activities aide to join the activities team. You will help engage and support activities by carrying out daily activities and documenting resident engagement and participation, contributing to a positive patient experience.

The role supports the activities director with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident activities, while maintaining safety, privacy and cleanliness, and assisting a geriatric population.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a positive attitude and energy.
• CNA license encouraged but not required.
• Experience with activities in a healthcare setting is a plus.
• Previous geriatric population experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills are necessary.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
• Evening, weekend and holiday availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and complete activities programs for Residents; focus on individual preferences.
• Work directly with Residents on units without direct supervision.
• Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
• Assist activities director & set up program areas as needed.
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
• Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units.
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Activities.
