Job summary

Fervo Energy is advancing next-generation geothermal power with a high-precision seismic program. You will design and deploy surface and borehole networks, calibrate sensors, and oversee data quality to build robust earthquake catalogs that feed fracture-network and reservoir models.

You will lead relocation and clustering using HypoDD and GrowClust, integrate DAS data, and work with hazard algorithms and regulatory engagement.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Geophysics, Seismology, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• Proficiency with HypoDD and GrowClust for relocation and clustering
• Solid grounding in surface and borehole seismic monitoring and detector geometry
• Knowledge of earthquake source analysis and hazard concepts
• Python proficiency for seismic data processing and Linux scripting

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain surface and borehole seismic networks.
• Run HypoDD for double-difference relocation and GrowClust for clustering.
• Generate and QA earthquake catalogs with velocity models.
• Incorporate DAS data alongside conventional sensors.
• Track seismic hazard metrics and interpret results for models and stakeholders.
