Are you passionate about unlocking sustainable geothermal energy through advanced reservoir modeling, simulation, and resource evaluation? Do you excel at integrating subsurface data, optimizing geothermal field development strategies, and delivering technical solutions that maximize long-term energy recovery and project value? Partnering with the Best Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company serving customers in more than 120 countries. We design, manufacture, and deliver industry-leading solutions that support energy extraction, production, and processing. Our commitment to innovation and operational excellence drives safer, cleaner, and more efficient energy solutions worldwide.

Fueling Your Passion

The Geothermal Reservoir Engineer is responsible for evaluating, modeling, and optimizing geothermal resources to support the development and operation of geothermal energy projects. This role applies reservoir engineering, subsurface characterization, thermal simulation, and production forecasting techniques to maximize sustainable energy recovery while minimizing technical and commercial risks. In addition, the successful candidate maybe expected to lead, manage and drive geothermal study projects to completion within budget and achieving quality delivery. As a Geothermal Reservoir Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting geothermal resource assessments, including reservoir characterization, temperature evaluation, permeability analysis, and uncertainty assessment.
  • Developing and maintaining 3D static and dynamic geothermal reservoir models to forecast thermal and hydraulic performance.
  • Performing reservoir simulations to evaluate production and injection strategies, well spacing, thermal breakthrough, and long‑term heat recovery.
  • Supporting geothermal play fairway analysis (GPFA), site screening, and opportunity maturation activities.
  • Estimating sustainable power generation potential and reservoir life under various development scenarios.
  • Evaluating reservoir risks, including temperature decline, pressure depletion, recharge potential, and reservoir connectivity.
  • As project manager, leading, managing, and driving multi-disciplinary projects to completion within budget while ensuring quality delivery
  • Collaborating with geoscientists, well engineers, drilling teams, and surface facility engineers to optimize field development plans.
  • Designing and evaluating production and injection well strategies to maximize thermal recovery and field economics.
  • Analyzing well test, pressure, temperature, tracer, and production data to update reservoir models and improve forecasts.
  • Supporting techno‑economic assessments, project due diligence, and investment decision processes.
  • Preparing technical reports, client presentations, and development recommendations.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have Master's or PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, or related discipline.
  • Have 3 to 5 years' experience in geothermal reservoir simulation and subsurface modeling.
  • Have knowledge of fluid flow in porous media, heat transfer, pressure transient analysis, and uncertainty quantification.
  • Have experience with reservoir simulation software such as CMG, Eclipse, Petrel, tNavigator, or equivalent.
  • Have understanding of geothermal systems, EGS, sedimentary geothermal, or subsurface energy systems preferred.
  • Have strong analytical, problem‑solving, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
