Job summary

The New Mexico State Land Office is seeking a Geothermal, Geologic, Environmental, and Minerals Supervisor in Santa Fe. The role focuses on managing monthly oil and gas lease sales, overseeing geothermal initiatives, and conducting geologic assessments for land use decisions.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in petroleum geology, oil & gas, and geothermal projects, plus experience with GIS, data analysis, and cross-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Geological Engineering and six (6) years of experience in a government regulatory role including oil field experience.
• Any combination of education and/or experience totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
• Must obtain and maintain a State of New Mexico Driving Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the monthly oil and gas lease sale.
• Oversee oil and gas geologic assessments and valuations.
• Oversee recommendations for areas of concern, environmentally or for production purposes, leases.
• Work to implement a new geothermal program.
