Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Team Leader to guide a geotechnical team in delivering field services, reporting, and client coordination in Charlotte, NC. You will oversee project staffing, safety, and quality while driving efficient operations and strong customer service.

Ideal candidates have several years in geotechnical roles, PE/PG preference, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Geology, or related field is preferred.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) is preferred.
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
• Strong professional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and standards.
• Ability to evaluate engineering data and design recommendations.
• Strong organizational and operational management skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with electronic devices and MS Office.
• Knowledge of ECS systems and procedures is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate field activities and staffing effectively.
• Must be able to occasionally lift a minimum of 85 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of geotechnical technicians and support staff.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the geotechnical team.
• Coordinate project assignments, staffing, and workload distribution.
• Ensure projects are staffed appropriately and delivered on schedule.
• Review and oversee geotechnical reports, analyses, and recommendations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors.
• Support subsurface investigation planning and execution.
• Oversee data interpretation and development of engineering recommendations.
• Participate in project meetings and client interactions.
• Support proposal preparation and business development activities.
• Maintain organization and efficiency within team operations.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and field oversight as needed.
• Perform additional technical and leadership duties as assigned.
