Atlas is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN team. You will support geotechnical investigations, combine fieldwork with data analysis, and prepare technical reports for public and private projects.

This hands-on role emphasizes field methods, site visits, and collaboration with senior engineers to develop reliable infrastructure solutions while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• 2+ years civil engineering experience; geotechnical preferred.
• Experience with field investigations, data interpretation, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and support field investigations including drilling and soil sampling.
• Review and interpret lab and field test data to inform decisions.
• Prepare geotechnical reports such as foundation investigations and site assessments.
• Perform site visits for data collection and reconnaissance.
• Support troubleshooting and provide practical solutions during construction.
• Develop recommendations for foundations, earthwork, slope stability.
• Lead small to medium geotechnical exploration projects.
