Job summary

UES seeks a Staff Engineer to plan, design, and direct geotechnical testing projects, including predevelopment, geotechnical design, and civil design support where needed. You will lead analysis of soil data, prepare reports, and ensure safety standards on site.

Responsibilities include cost evaluation, data interpretation, and coordinating field and laboratory work. Travel up to 70% is required, with strong communication and teamwork across project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering with 1–2 years of related experience.
• EIT Certification is required; ability to obtain P.E. licensure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and teamwork.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% and work in field and office environments.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, and directs engineering testing projects such as predevelopment and geotechnical design.
• Calculates cost and feasibility based on analysis of collected data.
• Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and geologic data for project planning.
• Inspects construction sites to ensure conformance to test plans and safety standards.
• Uses CAD/engineering software to prepare engineering documents.
• Directs activities at project sites as needed.
