Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL seeks an experienced Section Engineer for a major geotechnical and heavy civil project in Plymouth. You will lead delivery, manage setting out, surveying and documentation, and ensure safety, quality and programme alignment on multiple work fronts.

Ideal candidates have a civil engineering qualification and hands-on leadership experience on large infrastructure schemes, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as Section Engineer or senior engineer on civil/geotechnical projects.
• Strong setting out and surveying knowledge; able to interpret drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery across geotechnical and heavy civil packages.
• Manage setting out, surveying and dimensional control activities.
• Produce and manage as-built records and engineering documentation.
• Monitor progress, quality, quantities and compliance on site.
• Provide technical support and resolve queries during construction.
• Coordinate site engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Ensure works meet tolerances and design requirements.
• Develop RAMS, ITPs and quality documents.
