Job summary

ICOP is seeking an Area Sales Manager for geotechnical construction to advance preconstruction work and drive business development across the Metro DC region, covering Northeast markets including Philadelphia, NJ, and Delaware.

The role blends engineering know-how with sales and operations, requiring strong client relationships and an ability to translate geotechnical concepts into constructible solutions. A robust engineering background and market fluency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in construction with geotechnical background preferred.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical systems (drilled shafts, micropiles, soil mixing, shoring, ground improvement).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to read and interpret geotechnical reports and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and consulting engineers.
• Identify and qualify new project opportunities within the Metro DC market.
• Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking functions.
• Serve as a technical resource during preconstruction and pursuit phases.
• Review geotechnical reports, plans, and specifications to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to develop competitive, constructible solutions.
• Assist with bid strategy, scope definition, value engineering, and alternative design concepts.
• Support proposal development, presentations, and interviews.
• Track market activity, competitors, and key regional projects.
• Support strategic account planning and market sector growth initiatives.
• Maintain accurate CRM records for client interactions and pursuits.
