Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Shreveport, LA seeks a Geotechnical Project Manager I to lead geotechnical engineering and CMT projects from proposal to completion. You will coordinate field activities, review data, prepare reports and budgets, and support client relationships.

You will mentor junior staff, manage schedules, and ensure ASTM standards compliance in a consulting environment. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or similar.
• P.E. or P.G. is preferred.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Good knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications.
• Working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards.
• Ability to interpret field and laboratory testing results.

Responsibilities

• Prepares geotechnical reports, including technical analysis and recommendations.
• Manages geotechnical and CMT projects, including scheduling, execution, and delivery.
• Reviews field reports and ensures accuracy and completeness.
• Manages project budgets, change orders, invoices, and collections.
• Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals.
• Begins taking ownership of projects from proposal through completion.
• Supervises field activities, including drilling and testing operations.
• Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances.
• Conducts geologic research and supports technical decision-making.
• Classifies soils and assigns laboratory testing requirements.
• Mentors and supports junior staff and field personnel.
• Interfaces with clients and participates in project discussions.
• Performs other technical and project management tasks as assigned.
