Job summary

Weston & Sampson has an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Project Manager in our Rocky Hill, CT office. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of geotechnical experience and lead complex projects, including slope stability, settlement, soil/structure interaction, and foundation recommendations.

The role requires strong leadership, report writing, and coordination with CAD staff and clients. PE certification is required and some travel to project sites will be needed.

Qualifications

  • MS in Geotechnical Engineering with concentration.
  • Minimum 10 years of diverse geotechnical experience.
  • PE certification is required.
  • Experience with CAD, dam safety analyses, seepage and hydrologic modeling is a plus.
  • Familiar with geotechnical aspects of Building Codes and Design Manuals.
  • Strong construction experience and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management; prepare proposals, complex technical reports, specs, and drawings.
  • Mentor and review work of junior staff.
  • Travel to client meetings and project sites as needed.

Job description

Weston & Sampson has an immediate opening for a Geotechnical Project Manager with 10+ years of experience in our Rocky Hill, CT office. The candidate must have comprehensive experience with geotechnical analyses including slope stability, settlement, and soil/structure interaction, development of appropriate foundation and site-related geotechnical recommendations, and report preparation. Field experience associated with subsurface investigations and earthwork construction is required.

Salary Range: $120,000-$160,000k Based on experience

What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for project management; preparation of proposals, complex technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Managing and reviewing work of junior staff and mentoring.
  • Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites.
What You’ll Bring
  • MS with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of diverse and proven geotechnical experience.
  • Experience with CAD, dam safety engineering, seepage analyses, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling related to dams is a plus
  • Familiar with geotechnical aspects of Building Codes and Design Manuals.
  • Strong construction experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Must be motivated, responsible, and able to work independently.
  • PE certification is required.
