Job summary

Intertek-PSI serves as the Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager in Charlotte, NC, leading project management and geotechnical analyses for local and regional assignments.

The role requires a BC/Geotech background, NC P.E. license or ability to obtain, and a track record in business development and staff leadership. Expect field and lab work, travel up to 25%, and a focus on safety and client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in Construction Materials Testing and Geotechnical Engineering operations.
• 5+ years leadership or project management experience in CMT & geotech.
• North Carolina Professional Engineer license required or ability to obtain in-state.
• Business development and project proposals experience required.
• Prior personnel management, hiring and training experience.
• P&L responsibilities management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand work plans.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering and project management on local/regional projects.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, project plans, and specifications.
• Assign, track, and manage work/tasks to staff.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, task orders, and schedules for projects.
• Maintain client relationships and develop new project opportunities.
• Attend client site meetings and communicate with project teams.
• May perform on-site observations and field tests; sometimes work in lab.
• Ensure safety practices and policies.
