Intertek Group’s Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Project Manager to join our Building & Construction team and lead geotechnical investigations and project delivery locally and regionally.

This role blends engineering expertise with project and people leadership, requiring strong client relations, proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of field and lab work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years in Construction Materials Testing & Geotechnical Engineering operations.
• North Carolina P.E. license or ability to obtain as required.
• Business development and project proposal management experience.
• Experience in personnel management, hiring and training.
• P&L responsibilities management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to read work plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent evaluations using standard techniques and modify as needed.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, project plans and specs.
• Assign, track, and manage work to staff.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, task orders, and schedules for project task assignments.
• Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
• Review recommendations with engineers, senior PMs, and principal consultants.
• Maintain client relationships to develop new project opportunities.
• Attend client site meetings.
• Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
• May perform on-site observations and tests; field and lab duties.
