Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager I to lead geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects from proposal to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.

The role emphasizes developing independent project management skills, strong communication, and adherence to ASTM standards while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of related experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil/Geological Engineering or Geology is required.
• P.E. or P.G. is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and CMT practices.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare geotechnical reports with analysis and recommendations.
• Manage geotechnical and CMT projects from scheduling to delivery.
• Review field reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage budgets, change orders, invoices and collections.
• Prepare geotechnical and CMT proposals.
• Begin ownership of projects from proposal through completion.
• Supervise drilling and testing operations.
• Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances.
• Conduct geologic research and support technical decisions.
• Classify soils and assign laboratory testing requirements.
• Mentor and support junior staff and field personnel.
• Interface with clients and participate in project discussions.
• Perform other technical and project management tasks as assigned.
