Job summary

S&ME is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to support work across our Columbia, South Carolina, and Augusta, Georgia offices. You will oversee geotechnical projects, lead project teams, and collaborate with clients to deliver reliable, on-time solutions for major building and infrastructure programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil/Geotechnical/Mining, 4+ years' geotechnical experience, and PE licensure or plan to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining or related field.
• 4+ years of geotechnical experience, with some project management exposure.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical projects through all stages, ensuring on-time delivery and budget control.
• Evaluate field and lab data to develop practical, cost-effective recommendations.
• Prepare proposals and technical documents while aiding business development.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and partners to keep projects moving.
• Mentor junior staff and promote safety and professional growth.
