Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Project Engineer with geotechnical and environmental expertise to join our New York team. This technically focused role offers a path to project leadership, spanning subsurface work to oversight, with frequent travel between the Hudson Valley and NYC.

The ideal candidate holds a NY PE license, a bachelor’s in engineering, and 4–8+ years in geotechnical consulting. Opportunities include growth, collaboration with senior staff, and diverse project work.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in New York required.
• Degree in engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 4–8+ years of geotechnical experience.
• Know ledge of soil classification and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise soil boring, test pits, and monitoring well installations.
• Prepare geotechnical reports from field investigations and lab data.
• Classify soils/rock per NYC Building Code and USCS.
• Analyze shoring, footing systems, settlement, and slope stability.
• Prepare design specifications and calculations for active projects.
• Oversee environmental investigations and ESAs.
• Coordinate with clients on proposals, plans, and estimates.
• Manage subcontractors and project documentation.
