Thornton Tomasetti in Austin, Texas is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Forensics team. You will contribute to investigations of existing buildings, design remedial repairs, and support technical excellence for clients worldwide.

The role covers on-site inspections, geotechnical analyses, and preparation of technical reports and data visualizations. Travel within the USA and internationally is expected as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering; Master's or PhD preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant geotechnical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
• Ability to travel within the USA and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and investigations, documenting observations and sketches.
• Perform geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Develop analyses such as bearing capacity, slope stability, and settlements.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations communicating findings.
• Organize field data for analysis and problem solving.
• Support business development and growth of the forensic geotechnical practice.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering; Master/PhD preferred
