Job summary

Yeh and Associates, Inc. seeks an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Durango, Colorado office. You will support a wide range of geotechnical projects across the United States, contributing to design and development efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Geologic or Civil Engineering, 4–6+ years in geotechnical engineering, and a Colorado PE or ability to obtain one upon hire. Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate field exploration programs with staff and subcontractors.
• Assess site hazards and develop Health and Safety Plans.
• Interpret geologic and subsurface data to inform engineering designs, analyses, and recommendations.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations, developing recommendations for foundations, slopes, seismic hazards, and pavement design.
• Prepare technical reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for review.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop engineering cost estimates, proposals, and schedules.
• Lead geotechnical design efforts for tieback anchors, soil nail walls, MSE walls, and landslide/rockfall mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field exploration programs and manage safety.
• Perform analyses and develop design recommendations.
• Prepare reports, drawings, and cost estimates for review.
• Collaborate with PMs on project schedules and budgets.
• Provide construction observation and engineering support on site.
