Intertek is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer for our Indianapolis, IN office to perform testing, site assessments, and project-specific observations under supervision or controlled procedures. This role supports the geotechnical team in delivering scope to clients across civil/construction projects.

You will work on field exploration, laboratory services, analyses and report preparation, with opportunities to participate in business development and client relations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive Geotechnical Engineering experience
• Active project management experience required
• Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills
• Experience with site assessments and field observations would be beneficial

• Perform foundation, retaining structure and pavement design tasks

What are we looking for?

The Geotechnical Project Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Direct and execute one or all of the following geotechnical project assignments but not limited to field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, report preparation and report technical review.
• Perform routine geotechnical engineering design tasks such as foundation and retaining structure designs, pavement design and others.
• Provide quality control review of proposals and geotechnical reports and direct operations in a manner to consistently meet commitments to the clients.
• Actively participate in business development and marketing efforts while establishing and maintaining client relationships related to technical aspects of our client assignments.
• Responsible for the mentoring and training of junior professional staff professionals.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of progressive Geotechnical Engineering experience with active project management experiencerequired
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills are essential
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and related disciplines with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client's needs
• Expected travel up to 25% of the time (locally)
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• Masters in Civil engineering preferred
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
• PE license preferred
