Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) seeks a geotechnical engineer to perform analyses and designs for deep/shallow foundations, slopes, and earth structures. Work under a licensed engineer with opportunities for field and lab coordination across diverse projects.

Requirements include a Master’s in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus, proficiency with GEOSLOPE, AutoCAD, and related tools, and ability to travel domestically up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical/GeoStructural focus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of geotechnical theory through a technical assessment.
• Willingness to telecommute 1–2 days per week from a home office near Waltham, MA.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analyses and design for foundations, earth retaining structures, and related systems.
• Coordinate field and laboratory services for various project types, including new design and remediation.
• Prepare reports, drawings, and project specifications suitable for construction.
• Support in preparation of scopes, schedules, and budgets for proposals.
