Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Construction Observation & Testing Division in Alliance, OH.

The role involves soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregate testing, with responsibilities including data entry, test reporting, and adherence to standards and procedures. Laboratory Technicians will calibrate and maintain lab and field equipment, perform various tests, and contribute to accurate data records.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry, record keeping, test reporting, and other duties.
• Learn and apply ASTM, AASHTO, and other laboratory test procedures.
• Perform testing in the laboratory on construction materials including Proctors, sieve analyses, and classification tests.
• Prepare and test concrete cylinders, cores, masonry blocks, and prisms for strength testing.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
• Assist with data back-checking and corrections.

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently seeking aLaboratory Technicianfor our Construction Observation & Testing Division in Alliance, OH.

Laboratory Technicians are responsible for performing soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregate testing in accordance with published standards and laboratory policies and procedures. Laboratory technicians are also responsible for record keeping, test reporting, and other duties associated with the laboratory operation. Technicians in addition to laboratory testing will also be performing calibrations, and maintenance of field and lab equipment.

Responsibilities Include

• Perform data entry, record keeping, test reporting, and other duties.
• Ability to learn and apply ASTM, AASHTO, and other laboratory test procedures.
• Perform testing in the laboratory on construction materials to include Standard and Modified Proctors, sieve analyses, plasticity index tests, soil classification, and other soil, asphalt, and concrete test processing.
• Work in the concrete room prepping and performing tests on concrete cylinders, cores, masonry block, and prisms for compressive strength testing.
• Break cylinders, prisms, beams, and cubes of concrete and masonry.
• Perform maintenance and calibrations on laboratory and field equipment.
• Perform some calculations of test data under supervision of Laboratory Supervisor.
• Assist with data back-checking and corrections.
  

Pay Rate: $18–$19/hr, based on experience.
