Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) seeks a Geotechnical Soils and Construction Materials Laboratory Technician Level 1 to perform geotechnical soil testing to ASTM standards within an AASHTO and CCRL accredited lab. You will work under the Lab Manager to support testing, sample processing, and data recording.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality procedures, with potential for growth within BLE's expanding laboratory services in the Carolinas.

Qualifications

• High School or General Education Equivalent (GED)
• Ability to attend to detail and be time-conscious
• Basic level proficiency in MS Office applications (Word & Excel)
• Ability to use hand tools and testing apparatuses
• Ability to stand, squat, kneel or bend over for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently while completing scheduled tasks
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with team members and BLE leadership

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical Soils and Concrete sample processing
• Utilizing basic measurement tools
• Performing basic soil and concrete tests such as: Proctors (ASTM D698/D1557)
• Soil Sieve Analysis (ASTM D422/6913)
• Hydrometer Sieve Analysis (ASTM D7928)
• Concrete Compressive Strength Testing (ASTM C39)
• Specific Gravity of Soils (ASTM D854)
