Job summary

Dynamic Engineering Consultants, PC is seeking a Geotechnical Intern to support field, laboratory, and engineering tasks across our service regions. You will learn on-site soil and concrete testing, inspection, and data reporting while collaborating with seasoned geotechnical professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, ideally with geotechnical relevance.
• 0-2 years' experience in Geotechnical engineering (residential/commercial/site design and permitting).
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or EIT-track preferred.
• Valid driver's license, personal insurance, and access to a vehicle for site travel (mileage reimbursed).
• Ability to maintain/operate personal or company vehicle.
• Ideal candidate has completed construction materials laboratory coursework.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction site testing, inspection and sampling.
• Perform concrete placement tests (slump, air content, temperature) and cylinder fabrication; transport samples to lab when applicable.
• Perform soil compaction testing and fill placement monitoring.
• Conduct laboratory soils testing for permeability and max density/optimum moisture content.
• Witness and document soil borings and test pits as part of site investigations.
• Prepare inspection, laboratory data reports, and other project correspondence.
• Deliver samples and testing equipment between sites, office, and lab.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
