Job summary

Geocomp, Inc. in the Baltimore/Washington area seeks an Instrumentation & Monitoring Technician to install geotechnical and structural monitoring systems for heavy civil projects both in the field and in the office.

You will assemble instrumentation, install data loggers, perform field inspections, collect boring logs, and prepare technical reports while coordinating with clients and project teams. Travel up to 25% is required; a Civil Eng background and EIT are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Educational background or work experience in sensors, geotechnical, or structural engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Acrobat.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assemble instrumentation and dataloggers.
• Install and commission data acquisition systems.
• Perform field inspections of construction activities.
• Supervise drill rigs, including soil sampling.
• Prepare boring logs and field reports.
• Install instrumentation in the field and download data.
• Coordinate with clients and project stakeholders.
