Job summary

Dynamic Engineering Consultants, PC in Newark, NJ is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform construction phase testing and inspections on active projects, producing accurate field notes, site inspection reports, and daily summaries. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction related field is preferred.
• 0-4 years’ experience in construction inspection field or laboratory testing.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
• Hands-on experience with metric and English tools.
• ACI concrete field-testing technician certificate and related certifications preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Independent and critical thinking abilities.
• Self-starter who can work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits, testing, and inspection services at construction job sites.
• Perform soil testing and analyze physical index properties, permeability, and density.
• Assist engineers with site investigations, boreholes, and test pits.
• Transport samples to laboratories for testing.
• Review project documents including site-civil, structural, and geotechnical reports.
• Inspect structural steel and reinforcement and assess footing subgrades.
• Coordinate with contractors and project managers; report findings daily.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and maintain calibrated instruments.
