Job summary

MRCE in New York City is seeking a Resident Engineer who is eager to begin a career with a leading engineering consulting firm. You will be exposed to geotechnical foundation challenges, learn from experienced engineers, and tackle technical problems on complex projects.

The role emphasizes field work, subsurface investigations, and supervision under design engineers or project managers. Strong communication, willingness to spend significant time in the field, and a PE/FE pathway are encouraged.

Qualifications

• ABET/EAC-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) eligibility.
• Field-heavy role with site travel.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and information research for new opportunities.
• Perform pre- and post-condition surveys of buildings and structures.
• Work under supervision of design engineers or project managers.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and RFIs; flag conflicts in the field.
• Perform subsurface investigations and field testing.
• Inspect deep and shallow foundations and related structures.
• Maintain daily logs and report progress to the PM.
• Assist instrumentation engineers with instrument installs.
• Perform other duties as requested.
