Job summary

Sage Geotechnical, a geotechnical engineering firm in Olympia, WA, is seeking a Project Manager to lead geotechnical projects from proposals through final reports.

You will supervise field and lab work, develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, and communicate with clients and project teams. A PE license and 3+ years' experience are required. In-person in Olympia or remote work options available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 3+ years of geotechnical consulting experience required.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
  • Ability to document field activities, observations, and test results clearly.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS mapping.

Responsibilities

  • Manage proposals, design work, and technical reports.
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
  • Perform geologic and geotechnical analysis and basic calculations.
  • Conduct fieldwork including soil sampling, monitoring, testing, and site observations.
  • Provide construction observation and documentation.
  • Maintain clear client communication.

Sage Geotechnical is a geotechnical engineering firm in Olympia, Wash. We are a small firm dedicated to serving our long-term clients. We pride ourselves on our responsiveness, technical expertise, and determination not to make big problems out of small ones.

We’re hiring a PM to manage geotechnical projects from proposals through final reports, providing engineering recommendations, overseeing field and lab work, and coordinating with clients and project teams. In person in Olympia or remote.

What you bring
  • Abachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in geotechnical consulting or a closely related field.
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The attention to detail needed todocumentfieldactivities,observations,and test results in concise logs/reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS mapping.
  • The ability to work independently atjobsites and to communicate effectively with subcontractors and constructionforemen/superintendents.
  • The ability to workinour Tumwater office and onjob sites.(Relocation assistance available or signing bonus negotiable.)
  • A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record for travel toand fromjobsites.
  • The ability to liftat least50 pounds and work on uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
