Job summary

Midland Standard Engineering & Testing, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to lead investigations and deliver practical recommendations. You will evaluate soil, rock, and groundwater, perform analyses, and prepare clear reports for safe, cost-effective design and construction.

Collaboration with clients, designers, and field teams across the project lifecycle is essential. Applicants should have a PE license, ABET‑accredited Civil Engineering degree, and 5+ years in geotechnical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 5+ years geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare geotechnical reports and memoranda with conclusions and recommendations.
• Plan and oversee subsurface investigations (drilling, sampling, field testing) and coordinate laboratory testing.
• Analyze subsurface data to support design decisions (bearing capacity, settlement, lateral earth pressures, slope stability, deep foundations).
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, design engineers, and field/lab staff to support scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase support.
• Communicate geotechnical considerations during design and construction.
• Develop recommendations for residential, commercial, industrial developments; retaining walls, slopes, infrastructure, energy facilities, stormwater management.
