Building & Earth Sciences, Inc is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our Birmingham team and contribute to groundbreaking projects. You will conduct site investigations, perform geotechnical analysis, and design foundations while collaborating with project teams to meet client needs.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years in geotechnical engineering; a PE license is preferred, with emphasis on Texas licensing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, preference to Texas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and calculations.
• Design foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilization systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate geotechnical considerations.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications.
• Prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations.
• Track budgets and project financials; invoice clients as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, government officials, contractors, etc.
• Participate in professional meetings and business development functions as needed.
