Job summary

OceanaGold's Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to ensure stability and safety of mining operations. You will assess ground conditions, design ground support, and conduct slope stability analyses for open pit and underground sections, while collaborating with planning and operations.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mine Engineering, or Geology and 2+ years in mining geotechnical work; a PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geotechnical-related field required.
• 2+ years geotechnical experience in mining (open pit/underground).
• PE license would be considered an asset.
• Experience with geotechnical software and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical assessments and site characterizations.
• Design ground support systems for stability of structures.
• Perform slope stability analyses for open pit and underground mining.
• Lead ground control audits and maintain the Ground Control Management Plan.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and support regulatory requirements.
