Schnabel’s Houston, TX office is seeking a mid-level Geotechnical Engineer to support our growing practice. You will work with senior staff to solve real-world geotechnical problems, prepare reports, and interact with clients in a collaborative team environment.

The role emphasizes field oversight, design, and mentoring, with opportunities for professional growth and working on diverse projects within the earth and environment disciplines.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• PE license required.
• 5+ years of consulting geotechnical engineering experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical scope of services and fee estimates.
• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations.
• Manage geotechnical and construction phase observation and testing field work.
• Review and interpret geotechnical laboratory tests.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations.
• Develop geotechnical engineering recommendations and write reports.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across Schnabel offices.
• Occasionally perform field work on sites.
