The ideal candidate has 5+ years of geotechnical consulting experience, strong communication, and proficiency with geotechnical software. This full-time role involves fieldwork, office analysis, and collaboration with multiple Schnabel offices.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required or equivalent with a Master’s preferred.
• Virginia PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 5+ years of professional geotechnical consulting experience.
• Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software and design tools.
• Strong communication and client interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical scope of services and fee estimates.
• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations.
• Manage field observation and testing.
• Interpret lab tests and produce reports.
• Create basic plans with AutoCAD and GIS.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations.
• Prepare geotechnical recommendations and reports.
• Lead project management activities including budgeting and invoicing.
• Manage client relationships and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across Schnabel offices.
• Support field activities such as borings and site visits.
