Job summary

Accura Engineering in Knoxville, TN is seeking a civil engineer with geotechnical experience to assist in preparing plans, specs, and reports. You will perform basic calculations under senior engineers and support design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Site visits and data collection are required.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 3–5 years of GDOT project experience, and a Georgia PE license. Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 3–5 years of experience on GDOT projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specs, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses with supervision.
• Support design and drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and client/agency coordination.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate across disciplines.
• Support project managers in budgeting and scheduling tasks.
