Job summary

Accura Engineering in Chattanooga, TN seeks a civil engineer with GDOT project experience to join our team. The role focuses on assisting in preparing plans, specs, and reports, and performing basic analyses under senior engineers.

You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software to support design, site visits, permitting, and coordination with clients and agencies. A PE license in GA is required; 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Georgia PE license required.
• 3–5 years of GDOT project experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.
