Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer II to join the team. Responsibilities include preparing plans and reports, performing analyses, and supporting design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Site visits and regulatory coordination are required, with collaboration across disciplines. Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree, 3–5 years of geotechnical experience, and a GA PE license, with GDOT project exposure and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• GA PE license is required.
• GDOT project experience is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specs, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations under supervision.
• Support design and drafting with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and client coordination.
• Participate in internal project meetings with disciplines.
• Support project managers with budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
