Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Engineer II to support geotechnical design, analysis, and fieldwork from our Atlanta, GA area office.

You will assist in preparing plans, specs, and reports, perform calculations under supervision, and collaborate with multiple disciplines to meet project goals. The role requires a 3–5 year geotechnical background, GA PE license, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D; MicroStation and HEC-RAS experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Georgia PE license required.
• 3–5 years of GDOT project experience.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
