Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Staff I to support subsurface investigations, geotechnical inspections, and construction projects across New York, New Jersey, and the tri-state region. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on field and consulting experience.

You will perform soil sampling, classify soils, document field records, and assist with inspections, boring logs, and project documentation while collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 1–2 years of geotechnical or related field experience.
• Knowledge of soil sampling and classification methods.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic experience with CAD and geotechnical software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform soil sampling and subsurface investigations.
• Classify and document soil conditions; maintain field records.
• Support inspections, pile observations, and earthwork monitoring.
• Prepare boring logs, field reports, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, drilling crews, and engineers.
• Assist with technical reports, CAD drafting, and data management.
