Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Staff I to support subsurface investigations, geotechnical inspections, and construction projects across the New York and New Jersey tri-state region. This is an excellent entry-point for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on field and consulting experience.

You will perform soil sampling, classify conditions, prepare boring logs and reports, and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
1-2 years of geotechnical or related field experience.
Knowledge of soil sampling and classification methods.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Basic experience with CAD and geotechnical software preferred.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

Perform soil sampling and subsurface investigations, including Standard Penetration Testing (SPT).
Classify and document soil conditions and maintain accurate field records.
Support geotechnical special inspections, pile observations, and earthwork monitoring.
Prepare boring logs, field reports, and project documentation.
Collaborate with project managers, drilling crews, technicians, and engineering staff.
Assist with technical reports, CAD drafting, and geotechnical data management.
